A business executive with over two decades of experience, Ennio Manto has held leadership positions with several Massachusetts-based organizations. Most recently, as the president and principal of Automotive Finance Solutions, Ennio Manto followed the latest lending and purchasing trends in the automotive industry.

Although the U.S. auto industry remains strong overall, recent figures show that vehicle sales dropped for the first time in over seven years. Prior to 2017, which saw a 1.8-percent decline in domestic sales of new autos, the industry had experienced seven consecutive years of growth. According to the publisher WardsAuto, the period of growth was the longest experienced in the U.S. auto industry since the early days of the automobile.

Despite the fact that slightly fewer people are shopping for cars, those who are in the market are driving profits by favoring larger, more expensive vehicles. In 2017, Ford’s F-series pickup truck was the top-selling vehicle in the country. Sales of SUVs and crossover vehicles also remained strong, a trend that is likely to continue for the near future.
